Some plants are not green in nature, absence of chlorophyll?

There are healthy plants with totally yellow or maroon leaves and other glowing colors when exposed to sunlight. There are also plants that become greenier when not exposed to sunlight. What's the scientific reason of changing colors.

Some plants are not green in nature, absence of chlorophyll?
Some plants have pigments in addition to chlorophyll that make them red, yellow, whatever.

Plants can change the amount of chlorophyll according to how much light they have. If they have less light, they need to use it more efficiently by boosting their chlorophyll and they get greener. (Conversely, some plants that do well in low light have to reduce their chlorophyll in bright light.)
