How long do Cayenne chili plants live for? Is it just one season?

I live in a warm sunny climate so was just wondering if I need to plant more plants or will my current plants will keep producing fruit?

You have to re-plant each and every year. Chili plants love full sun the more the better. Chile or Chili peppers and vegetables do NOT like cooler temperatures. Plant them when temperatures are consistently above 50 degrees fahrenheit during the night.

They are considered a vegetable. Watering and fertilizing are about the same.
Reply:It depends on how warm you are. Capsicums are perennial plants in the tropics. However, they will die after a couple of frosts. So in most of North America and Europe they are considered annuals.

You may be able to protect your plant from the frosts with a frost blanket in the winter. Or if it's in a pot, you can bring it indoors during the cold winter months.
Reply:I live in FL and have had the same Tabasco pepper plant for 7 years. Usually they only last a year.
